Christians and Atheists Debate Resurrection
Atheists and Christians will square off on Monday, April 4, at 7:00 PM, to debate the question "Did Jesus Rise From The Dead?"
The debate will take place at Cedar Grove Baptist Church, 2021 Cedar Grove Road, in Leeds, Alabama.
Dr Steve Cowan, of Southeastern Bible College, and Brandon Robbins, of the Apologetics Resource Center, will be arguing for the historical validity of Jesus' resurrection.
Their opponents will be Robert Collins, Activism Director for the Secular Coalition for Alabama, and Scott Savage, Alabama State Director for American Atheists. Savage and Collins are both ex-Christians who say that they became Atheists while studying the evidence for and against Christianity.
"We are excited about the opportunity to present information that many Christians have never heard before," said Collins. "We've promised Dr Cowan and Mr Robbins that we will invite all of our Atheist friends, too. This will be a balanced presentation where each side will get a fair opportunity to state their case."
"Scott and I know our Bibles very well. That's one big reason why we are Atheists. We are pleased that our opponents are seasoned professional debaters. They should be worthy adversaries. The audience is going to see a lot of respectful, but very real, conflict," Collins concluded.
The debate is open to the public. Admission is free.
